COVID Testing in Las Vegas

If anybody has information about where in Las Vegas we can get COVID tested, that would be very useful information.

There is a CVS Pharmacy very close to the Paris hotel, but all I could find was 'COVID-19 testing at select CVS Pharmacies...' I'll try to report here, in case I find out that they offer tests and how to get one.

As far as I know, testing negative for COVID-19 is NOT a substitute for vaccination in requirements (as of this posting) for entry to in-person DEF CON 29.

You didn't ask that, but I have to include it.

Now that that is out of the way...

Costco sells these redeemable coupons for Azova PCR tests mailed with UPS or FedEx (Search CostCo site for products.)

Basically, you get a redeemable code, you sign up for an account with the company, then you redeem the code to get the kits that have (historically) had a fairly long shelf-life.
You can then take these kits with you and use them as needed like 2 days before flights or whatever. From observation if you drop off your sample before carrier day pickup, they are delivered and tested within 2-3 days with online results.

In one kit, which includes an "observation" component which was to meet requirements to travel to Hawaii, you make an appointment for an online video chat with an observer that watched you spit into a tube, then pack it up and seal it to be sent via UPS or FedEx to a lab.

In the other kit, you just let them know in your account that you are sending them a sample, you do it yourself without observation and send it off.

Both claim short turn-around time, but how long to ship overnight depends on shipper last pickup time.

Cost for these was like $120-$150 depending on the kit.

Both require early planning. I don't think costco carries these in their warehouses; they only have the redemption codes. If you redeem the codes, you need to wait for the kits to arrive by mail before you can use them.



If you ask google maps for COVID-19 test around the hotels in Las Vegas, you can find a few CVS (one about 2-3 Las Vegas city blocks away) and one "COVID-19 Drive Through Testing Wallgreens" on the map. This implies you have a car or a rental car.

Excellent information number6 , thank you! Tests and vaccination are both important, as well as masks of course.

A large international airline gives the advice that in Las Vegas there are several places offering on site testing. According to their map, the closest testing facility (to our hotels) is the CVS near Alexis Park on 4490 Paradise Road. This CVS offers PCR tests, which means they test your viral count rather than your antigen count. I think this type of (viral) test is the kind more groups require or consider valid.

Maybe other places exist (you listed several) that offer similar tests, no idea. The mail delivery option is good as well, thanks for that advice.

For those asking 'who are these jokers anyway', it's about some fully vaccinated needing tests to cross borders. Better be well prepared (even if you don't need the test in the end) than be late and sorry, no?

The location at 4490 Paradise Road says "drive-thru test (vehicle required)" so I'm not sure if this is going to work for us..

I was fully vaccinated back in March/April, but I can't fly out of the United States to Canada without a test taken within the last 72 hours. If it takes a full three days to get results, I'd miss my flight.

It's overpriced and a free PCR from CVS might work, but at least I can sleep well knowing this will work.
