I plan to bring my FT2DR along with me. Are there any local freq's to monitor while I am there?

Or should I bring my Uv5r with me?

Welcome! The quasi-official Con frequency is 146.580. As to equipment, bring whatever you are comfortable with. My XYL and I tend to bring UV-5s and or UV-8Ds. Flexible but less pain if lost or damaged. Remember also there's a lot of metal in most convention venues so signals often don't travel far.
