Thinking of Coming to DEFCON

Thinking of attending the DEFCON this year. I was talking to one of my friends and got to know in DEFCON hacking is legal inside and I need a secure connection so that my private information will not get hacked or used against me. I saw in FAQs violence is not allowed. But what of the use of my private data? Is it safe for me to come in for looking at the events?

Should I be worried that my data can be looked at by anyone who is attending DEFCON?

Not all hacking is legal here, but enter at your own risk. I suggest bringing a clean laptop and a burner phone. Power off and secure your regular stuff for the duration of event. Create all new email accounts and passwords just for DefCon. Don't take any chances.
