I thought that happened this year.. (at least the pool was filled with alcohol)

It's not the fire marshalls you have to watch out for, it's the security dude... I mean, come on, three assaults, two paramedics... and one Asian pr0n queen in the hot tub... Is that really a valid reason to call the whole thing off?

"Daddy, tell me the one about Noid, the .50 caliber and the Swat team again?"

Sounds like a great talk for around a campfire. Next year, let's fill pool #3 with all the leftover alcohol, set it on fire, break out the marshmallows and listen to the stories of cons past. :D

More importantly, who will supply the alcohol to incapacitate the fire marshal?

This is something I would like to see as well. Unfortunately I don't think DT likes speaking at his own conventions.

you probably want to email blackbeetle<a>defcon.org for more info.

I always thought it would be great to be the defcon historian.... one benefit i have is that I am a packrat so i have been collecting digital and tangible defcon related things since i became aware of defcon and started to going to defcon since dc3... i would have thought there would already be a historian/custodian in place, but haven't looked around, especially recently.

History of the 'Con, Part I

    Hi all,

I'm new to the forum, new to the DefCon community and attended (finally) my first 'Con here with #11.

Great time, entertaining as hell, and informative as all get-out.

Since my school paid for my trip out there, they're requesting I give a short-talk about what I learned (computer security-wise; the really good stuff I'll keep to myself ;)

As background for this talk, I'd like to bring up the history of the 'Con (and the extensions and ties to BlackHat) and I wanted to know who had a "canonical" history of events leading from inception up through present-day.

Is there a reference or is it all just heresay (heresy?)

    Thanks in advance,

    -z-

(P.S. Anyone want a copy of msblast.exe? A user of mine had a copy... ;)
Working...
