On the way to Defcon on Saturday, Omar the Cabbie and I had a nice talk. You see, cabbie in vegas know everything.
Topic: Food
Guano: Where's a good burger joint, preferably close to Alexis Park?
Omar: There's a great place two buildings down -- just walk toward Paradise and you won't miss it. It's across from Hard Rock.
And, Omar was right, and it was good.
Topic: Feds
G: So have you driven many people to AP this weekend?
O: No. Too many government people.
G: I know what you mean. DC9 was about 1/3 whitehat, 1/3 blackhat, and 1/3 fed inventorying the other two. This year there seems to be more.
O: Walk over to the Hard Rock parking lot some time. Feds don't take taxis. They're all parked over at Hard Rock and they walk across the street.
So I went over -- most of the cars has governement plates/tags.
Wow, two for two!
Topic: Future of DC?
G: So what do you think DC will be like in a few years? I'm thinking in 5 years it will all be feds and one hacker.
O: NO! THREE YEARS! THREE YEARS!
(Omar said this while completely turned around and facing me. Doing about 45 and swerving around traffic.)
G: Will it still be at AP?
O: No -- AP is in trouble.
Omar wouldn't elaborate.
Thoughts?
