There's no such thing as a 'cheap' swing at VB - they're all deserved.

For all I know SubSeven was written in 6502 assembly and is dynamically recompiled to work under x86. I'm basing my findings on what Google returned for mpr.dll, to which several of the references were on VB forums and help sites (at least, the onles that listed the API call).

Visual Basic - to be featured on the upcoming Fox special, "When Scripting Languages Go Bad."

Another option: hit up Google and serch on the parts of the error message that are relevant to the problem you're experiencing. Hint: the relevant parts are 'WnetEnumCachedPassword' and 'mpr.dll'.

In this case, WnetEnumCachedPassword is an API call provided by mpr.dll (which appears to control aspects of NetBIOS sharing for Visual Basic - ugh); the file may have been renamed or removed. See if you can't find a recent copy of mpr.dll, install it, and check if things start working.

The first question I think would be is, "Did he download one that doesn't work or did he download an incomplete one."

I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. He stated that he wanted to see how it works and didnt say 'y0 help me sub7 my teechers computer'. First thing I'd suggest is that you see if the required .dll is even on the box you are installing on.

I'd like to run this trojan once to see how it works, but i dont know too much about hacking.

Would you give me an idea.
