Does anyone know anything about the Defcon Group in Columbus, Ohio?

I was contacted by a guy here at DefCon saying that there is no longer a group here in Columbus. He tried to make contact with the group rep here for the past two weeks and has had no luck. So he e-mailed me asking me if I wanted to take on the responsibilities of being the new rep and I'm still thinking about it. Although I'm only a student from Devry and I don't have that much knowledge of security, technology, and whatever compared to many. I would be interested in just trying to find others interested in trying to get together and people who know what they are talking about. This is bordering on embarrassing for Columbus--quite a few people interested, but nobody wants to coordinate. If you're serious about getting dc614 off the ground, I'll be happy to join in and help.

You don't have to be the most knowlegable person in Columbus to run the group. I'm sure you have some to teach and much to learn, like nearly everyone else.

I say you should go for it. You set up the meeting times and place and that's basically all there is to it. If you don't know enough to develop your own group webpage, I'm sure someone else will volunteer.

Russ has already been contacted. Now I need to start workin. I'm a full time student and I work part time mon-fri in the evenings so I'll do what I can through the week, but most will be done on the weekends when I'm free. I got a half ass website on anglefire but it sucks. My main purpose for that site was just to get something online as soon as possible. I don't know much about making websites, but I do know a few that do, so I'll have to ask around. I hate anglefire because of the freakin adds but it's just a temp thing for now hopefully. I have to go work (UPS) now, but I'll work on some of this tonight when I get home.

This is bad but that's all I could do in a couple minutes.

Flyers???

Does anybody have any idea on what to do for flyers? I'm the least artistic person in the world so any ideas would be appreciated. I know where all to post them at, I just want something that will grab people's attention when they see it.

I'm up for starting the group. In fact I would volunteer to organize it and lead it. I'm new but would love to get involved in something like this. Let me know whose interested out there.
