  • PGP Email Public Key

Okay i had a quick look on the forums and links pages and couldnt find anything that yelled 'This is it!' to me, so Ill just come out and ask, how do i get myself a key for email encryption, er... two keys, the public and private ones.

yeah it sounds like a newb question, its just not my field of expertise.

      Nope. You figured it out.

It's pretty straight forward after key generation, it creates tw keys, one beinga .pub The .pb is what you attach to outgoing email, etc.

The easier way to propigate your key to people, is to PGP sign a message. Its' not encrypted, but it get's a PGP fingerprint added. After posting your key to the public keyservers (VERY good idea) people can pul yoru ful key off a signed email, and add it to their keyring to exchange mail with you, fully encypted.

When people ask for my key, I always direct them to get it off the public keysevers, becaus eto me, it's far more secure. I put it there, so it woudl be hard for somebody to send out a spoofed mail frm me, a my adresses, claiminga new key. I can change my key anytime I like, and if anyone needs and update, they can pull it off the server.

another one to check out is GnuPG if you're a linux/bsd/unix user. Also, as a moderator here, allow me to say 'welcome aboard'. Not only did you try to answer your own question before posting, but you kept looking after you asked as well. If all of our new users acted like this we'd have to retire Fucktard Hall.

I return whatever i wish . Its called FREEDOWM OF RANDOMNESS IN A HECK . CLUSTERED DEFEATED CORn FORUM . Welcome to me

Yeah i've been lurking for quite sometime on forums, seen so many poor (ha!) asshats get sent to hell, its good to see, about time forum mods grew some balls and punished the wankers, there are too many forums that let these people survive and spread their ignorance to others.

Oh.. this forum has never really had that problem, the moderators here are quick to punish idiocy. That is why the fucktard hall exists and is constantly growing, and why the moderators don't have to buy drinks...
