good lord, the register biscuits at Staples have sunk to a new low of retardedness. Not just content to sell people printer cables and claim that they're "Scuzzy" cables.

WHY ARE THERE STILL AIRPLANES IN THE AIR!! THAT'S AGAINST THE LAW!

i'm surprised they tallked to the police. If some keystone cop'd shown up at my house because i'd wanted to buy a fucking videogame, i'd tell him to piss up a rope and never even let him in the door.

Its amazing how people are questioned for having almanacs, and people are questioned for buying flight simulators, but any Joe-Al-Quaeda could just walk right over the Canadian border and no one even notices.

Can you say "1984".. I knew you could...
Stupid people should have to wear signs that just say, "I'm Stupid." That way you wouldn't rely on them, would you? You wouldn't ask them anything. It would be like, "Excuse me...oops...never mind, I didn't see your sign.

I found a fallacy in teh article, and I beleieve it's a fake.

The woman is quoted as having asked for the software, and after teh clerks response, leaving (eg not buying anything).

Later the cop come to her house.

How did they know who she was?

It's all too convienient. You have a "military family" (read: Fine upstanding american citizens), You have a concerned cleak (worried about Flight videos. Software != videos), The cops "just doing his job".

It all reads like gov't homeland security propaganda. The military people don't mind because "We have to be vigilant". If American Military personel don't mind, then why should you?

This is reading like Red Scare propaganda from the 50's.

I'm glad I am not the only one who noticed it... I did think that perhaps that got her Tag as she was pulling out of the parking lot.

Nope.. it checks out. I called the store and talked to the manager on duty (Jose, he would not give his last name). He verified that the story is true, and it is company policy to alert the police in cases such as ones in the story. He refused to give any more information, and instead directed me to the home office (508-253-5000).

And that number goes to Staples Corporate Office at 500 Staples Dr, Framingham, MA 01702. Fucking marvelous. These people can't even get the right toner cartridge when I order it, and now they're looking out for the safety of the nation. Bloody brilliant.

God, I am so sick of this inane homeland security crap.
