  • DC810 has arrived!

To those in the southeastern Michigan, NPA 810 with overlays of 517 and 248 - I'm starting the beginnings of DC810 and working heavily on a website for the group as a whole. Contact me at quirk[at]consultant[dot]com if you have any questions, comments or suggestions. (Yes, I realize that 810 is a huge NPA, but as of now there's not a single one within Michigan, and I am going to change that with something I hope will take off like wildfire. More info will make it to the DC groups index shortly with the website URL.

Heh, consider the opposite: places like Los Angeles, with eleven NPAs that can be considered part of the greater metropolitan area.

What's funny are the people who think they can't go to a meeting because they don't live in the same area code as it's held in.

Just tell me when and where and I'll try my bestest to be there. Let me know if there's anything I can help with. :)

The meeting point will *NOT* be in Port Huron, it'll be closer to Mt. Clemens so it's fair on driving for all I feel(that's all I know as of today.) I am by no means a website graphics artist, but I'm trying to work on a custom font as I have been the last few hours for flyers and website. I'm in need of one good with graphics, I can make my own, but you'd end up seeing something like stickdeath, with animated stick figure flash.....

Have you contact Russ and Such so he can put you on the website/mailing list/forum?

I sent mail to dcgroups[at]defcon[DoT]org with all the info requested per the groups FAQ page and received mail from one so far in response to it. If I missed a step in the process, any info to assist in getting the rest of it done would be greatly appreciated.

              RE: meeting place(s) and website

I am still trying to gather those in NPAs of 810/248/eastern edges of 517 for the DC810 meetings - if you exist in one of these and are interested, please PM me or yahoo with your location so we can pick a centrally located meeting spot, and people dont get screwed into driving 1.5 hours if they really want to attend. I am still working on the website heavily, I've drafted a graphics design artist for a logo and other various pieces too - if you have ideas, throw them at me and we'll make it happen.

It spans a great distance but Mt Clemens would be a decent meeting place I live right out of Port Huron but the 30 minute drive isn't that bad

                  u

I live just north of port huron, so I can relate to drivetime, but with the way things are with DC chapters in Michigan at the moment, that's how it is going to be till another mutually agreeable spot is found. I thought of triangulating all of the people in DC810 thus far, and picking a spot based on that...but it'd prolly end up in a stickville area based on the guesstimates I have so far.

I dont mind a decent drive to get the group together, White/Walled lake decent for all? some place in Commerce? throw out ideas, if you have a decent spot for us to get this party started off right, throw it out and we'll work on getting it coordinated. If you're close to me, or en route I can snag you if you don't want to drive, you just have to tolerate my lead foot and offensive driving.

Whitelake isn't that bad but it's about as far as I'll drive to it, hell during hunting season I'll be out that way every once in awhile anyhow killing big brown white tails anyhow.

If someone can get ahold of the College in Auburn Hills then maybe we can meet there and have internet at the meetings.
