New Monorail Open This Year

The new monorail that connects all of the strip is due to open this year in May or June I think. It should be open by the time Defcon comes.

It connects the far end of the strip Sahara, A Block North of Circus Circus, Across from Statosphere, to the South End, at MGM.

As far as I know, its the same as the other monorails have been, free to ride.

I think there is a small charge.. but we are still unsure about all of that.. they are going to have a big to-do about it being completed... I will have all the info then and post it here... but as of right now they are talking about a small charge for riding it

crashed the A/C system? in a building loaded with computers/delicate electronics in 110+ degree heat? getting pools closed? what the hell is wrong with these people? If I see any tampering with things that will directly affect my electronics I can assure you that you'll see people tied up with the roll of spare cat5 I always carry, and I'll leave a note on them so others can kick and beat them as they go by. Defcon is an educational experience, not a reason to be a blatant ass to get attention by any means necessary.

It's more than possible to get the monorail to derail if you send 2 of the cars at each other at a decent rate of speed, voltage regulated by the centralized computer network(to stop said collisions, and control timing - or so I figure)....

That is funny, I think las vegas is going to have to employ Homer Simpson durring dc incase any bad mishaps happen with the monorail.

It's a monorail, something where real lives are at stake, not some simulation on a computer screen. If you want to be a masochist about it, go ahead since there's a lot of people ready for fresh victims as referred to earlier, and it wont help your case next year when your "fun" causes trouble for the rest of us.
