haha, i acually met kevin rose, nice guy, think he is alittle in over his head, and the new version of knoppix has me shocked I love it, default wm is fluxbox and everything is suprisingly functional. I still have to upload the ck n' kevin rose pics, not sure what my friend did with them.

Okay, here's how this works. Anyone can come to defcon and do whatever they want within reason. If Kevin Rose wants to come to defcon and shoot an episode of thebroken, he can. For a bunch of people that fight so hard for free speech, you sure are quick to try to silence someone elses form of expression when you don't agree with it.

If you don't like the show. Don't watch it. That can be your biggest form of protest.

And in closing, nobody is going to touch Kevin Rose or anyone else for that matter, because the biggest shit talkers are usually the ones that talk shit out there asses but would more than likely run from a fight if one presented itself. But mostly because we have a great group of guys we call the Security Goons that would love for someone to try and be a tough guy, it breaks up the day.

Just to clarify things, it wasn't thermite they were using. It was most likely run of the mill black powder. They likely ignited it with a model rocket ignition. The hard drive also probably survived so their entire goal wasn't met. Plus just pouring black powder into a drive bay might make it possible for it to ignite during normal use of the computer.

Now, to really destroy a drive, maybe a few shaped charges set around the drive would work. I'd hate to bump the *unprotected momentary switch* on the side of the computer though. :)
