    We aren't your tech support. Your answers are here:

    http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&i...LDR+is+missing

    If you had done even the slightest searching on your own you would have found the answers you were looking for.

    My problem wasn't the same. I had multiple partitions and when I configured LILO I had typo'd the partition (hda2 when it should have been hda1). My solution was simply editing the lilo.conf and re-running lilo.

    His issue is not the same as he says he only has one partition.

    There are a shitload of web resources on this though. It is pretty easy to fix.

    You might want to make sure the attributes on NTLDR are correct... I believe it should be Archive, Hidden, System...

    At the risk of sounding unhelpful, why do you think we're your personal tech support site? It would be one thing you had been here for a while and were trying to troubleshoot something, but this is your first post.

    drop to DOS, and get a copy of the bootlog.txt file if you have it, and look at what is failing/corrupt/missing specifically - then manually extract from the CD via .cab in DOS - after you've fixed all corrupt/missing, reboot and hold on tight.

    NTLDT is missing

    Hello,

    the system boots with the NTLDR is missing error
    the OS is W2K PRO and there is only 1 NTFS partition

    I boot with cdrom thru bios with the repair mode.
    the HD setup repair is OK then the setup is examining the folders
    and throu the scan the following files are missing and then the repair
    is not successfull and the system starts with the NTLDR is missing again.

    NTDETECT.com
    NTLDR
    ARCSETUP.exe
    ARCLDR.exe

    THE BOOT.INI file IS NOT DOMAGED
    Because i type c:\Boot.ini
    and i get

    A list similar to the following list appears: [boot loader]
    timeout=30
    default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINNT

    [operating systems]
    multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINNT="Microso ft Windows 2000 Professional" /fastdetect

    with map i see the cdrom is on d:\
    but when i

    copy drive:\i386\ntldr c:\

    copy drive:\i386\ntdetect.com c:\

    the above comments are not succesfull

    I SEE THAT WITH THE F8 I CAN'T BRING THE SYSTEM TO SAFE MODE, LAST GOOD
    CONFIG and all the other options

    i don't have an ERD. i downloaded the madboot disks but the system does not
    see it. what do you thing is wgong?

    THIS IS ON THE WINDOWS 2000 PRO AND NOT XP.

    thanks for your time.
