.WMV licensing

People at my school have taking music off their cds with windows media player. Which put the music files into a .wmv format on the computer. Now when you try to move these files to other computers and open them it pops up an internet explorer window directed to microsoft's website asking you to migrate your license in order to play these files. Well i exceeded the limit of migrations within one day (i hosted it on a web-shell and allowed anyone access to get the songs). Had i known there was a limit of migrations i wouldn't have done so. However i'm now in a bind. There is music i want to listen to but no way to listen to it if i go on a computer that hasn't previously downloaded the licensing to do so......very annoying. I'm wanting to know what would be the best way to get around this. I've thought about possibly getting a wmv to mp3 converter and listen to the songs that way. Or possibly finding out where the licensing file(s) are located and just allow anyone to download that with the copy of songs. This is all a school oriented project. So either way i'm going to have to devote time in any alternative with the conditions i'm in which are.... slow internet, bess proxy, and possibly complications with a teacher. So other then the 2 methods i presented are there any other alternatives i could consider in achieving my goal.

I wouldn't have just copied them over, first thing that popped into my head is sharing out the drive/folder of the original spot you dumped them..windows wont scream about licenses either.

Something was recently brought to my attention by another, and it needs to be mentioned..circumventing copyright and making hundreds of copies past the archival backup offsite(which is the only way this could really be viewed and still may not be legal is not condoned in the least bit) could have consequences of fines, jailtime, and ban from your school computer network or expulsion.

On e-machines there is usually a program called winamp or winamp setup somewhere(use search) then install, it rips songs in the mp3 format. Or elese you could change the preferences in wmp so that songs are extracted in another, non-windows format.

Not bad, replying to a thread thats over a year old. Judging from this and your previous posts I'd say your time here is probably comming to an end.
