I just read an article on the Nextel i930 and noticed that it has an SDIO on it and started thinking, nextel is incorperating gps into all their phones and there are sdio wifi cards out there and if ministumbler or a like program would install on the phone. just think how cool it would be to have a phone that you can wardrive with, not to mention voip too, that is if you could use a sdio wifi card with it. I guess I won't know till the damm thing comes out.

In my expirence, NetStumbler Works well under standard serial NMEA output from the phone.
I use a i88s Motorola Nextel phone. I had to purchase the Serial Communication Cable in order to get it to output. Since, as far as im concerned, NMEA doesnt support USB output.
Anyway, the GPS interface is pretty easy with this model of Motorola's phone.
NEMA Output? [Yes] [No]
Although I have had some bugs with getting it to keep outputting on the serial line when I close and reopen netstumbler usually a phone reset is in order to get it working again.
But the only gripe I had with using my phone as a GPS source. Is battery time, I would get about 1.5 hrs of usage with the GPS unit. Wish that the GPS software could activate at a preset time, (1, 5, 10, 15 Mins). I would use an external powersource, but the Communication Cable Takes up the Power interface on the bottom as well. Could possibly break it open, and wire in a car (12V) cig adapter to keep it powered in the car.
But, I couldnt imagine a WiFi card, GPS, and Java software running on the phone would give you a useful purpose for any extended period of time.
