What do you use for "vpn" tunnel?
There are so many that use so many different ideas. I have tried windows based, cipe, ssh based, and a few others. Does anyone have any experiance with any of these, or any others?
    thanks

Depends on what you're trying to do. (Yeah, I know that's not quite an answer, but still.)

For example, from work, I only want to tunnel my IMAP connections back to my house email server. That's not enough to justify a full IPSec tunnel, but an ssh tunnel's just right. You can use any old ssh client for that (PuTTY's a lovely way to do that in Windows, if needed).

When I'm home, and want to get to work stuff (like, to do troubleshooting remotely), then the full IPSec tunnel's the way to go (I've used Cisco and Checkpoint VPN clients....they're about equal, all other things considered).

When it comes to VPN there is Cisco and then there is everything else.
