  • Dear Mr. Vernon,

Just out of curiousity, how do the forums tend to be *after* the con is over? It seems like there is a rather disproportionate number of posts requiring the standard "please use google, now go away" response.....but does this place continue in the spirit of the 'Hughes-esque ASCII Breakfast Club' the day after?

Random thoughts for a Tuesday morning.

No, after being asked the same questions over and over that can be easily-googled, the FOAD-to-answer ratio is about right. In fact, I'd even go so far as to say people are showing remarkable restraint in the replies that they are giving to the pointy-clicky-it-no-worky crowd.

but does this place continue in the spirit of the 'Hughes-esque ASCII Breakfast Club' the day after?
Yes, but the music over the closing credits is provided by KMFDM instead of Simple Minds. Also, Judd Nelson has been replaced by a troll doll with red blinking LEDs for eyes.

You know it's really funny you say that about the LEDs for eyes. Wait until you see my TCP/IP entry :)

Heh, OK. I have to admit I'm curious about this now. I'm assuming you're talking about an entry for the IP Appliance contest?

Yeah, and it looks (from the board here) like it's the *only* entry...which would be too damn bad, I'm looking forward to seeing others...

Now I'm going to go watch some Brat Pack movies - hehe

You can check out the archives by date and search the previous con. We basically relive it for afew weeks, folks trade links of pics, and some people like me whine about the fact that it is over too soon. Next thing you you, you're hooked.

I think we talk about the past con until 12/31, then on 1/1 we start looking for the next con.
