Hello all, a question about the commerical (and I guess legal) use of spyware.
I have recently purchased two programs; the nero cd burner and the Mp3 pro. When I installed the software for both of these programs, I ran sypbot ...and spybot (which is my favorite program, as it is designed for someone who knows little about computers) found spyware in both of these programs. Now both of my son's tell me this is a common practice with commerical software programs - they bundle this spyware, because... they get paid to do so.
So here is the question. Why isn't this illegal, or at the very least why are these sofware giants not required to label their products with a warning, something like: " This Product Contains Spyware, Consumer's Beware."
Your thoughts would be appreciated.
