When we last moved I took all my crap electronics and cases and stuff to a recycling center. It cost me $75 to get rid of the stuff!! Mostly old motherboards, a few cases with coke all over them, two dead monitors and some misc parts.
Would have thought San Franciscio would be more progressive with their computer recycling.

but im starting to think that i've got a randomly occurring vortex with a short fixed duration...
you may be right about my power situation. i've got a monster JuiceGoose that i use for my main power, but that might be at partial fault as well. recently lost my old 21" .25 drafting monitor and my sony used flatscreen, poof poof. and come to think of it, months back my yamaha 02r went byebye too. hmm. its so hard to tell when you buy used
at least when the flatscreen toasted it got me off of neverwinter nights and back to the prep work that i _must_ complete in order to be able to support my *ick*Job*ick* and attend DC. :)

I am old enough to remmeber when people would pay YOU for your old tires, monitors, and other junk. Today everything is a hazard and we have to pay to get rid of it. Sigh.

Hey there,
I did a little research and currently Office Depot is having a program where you can recycle your dead monitors and tvs, vcrs, and stuff like that that's basically crummy to throw away.
Its 1 item per person, per day. Anything up to 27" tvs they can do.
I just looked on thier website, but I'm not sure where the details are buried. The store I went to today had a big sign in thier entry way.
Now I know where I can take that monitor that started smoking and popping the other day.
