    Thanks from the Queer Consul

I could spend hours thanking people for many things, but instead I decided to just highlight on one or two things that I wish to thank people for... This list is in no-way all inclusive nor in any perticular order.

    Part 1:

First I'd like to give thanks to Stitch, not only for putting up with me, but for being my little man, helping out with the Scavenger Hunt so much, and just being there for me when I needed you.

DT and Black Beetle: Thanks for putting on a great show, like you do every year. This year was actually very calm and everything ran well. I hope you continue to do Defcons in the future.

Noid: The way security was run this year definitely reflects positively on your leadership. You did a great job, as did Priest.

Security Goons: You guys handled every issues that I saw come up, with tact and precision. You're all definitely an intergral part in making Defcon run smoothly and it shows more and more each year.

Priest: Thanks for stopping us from drinking the mountain dew can from the roof tent area and having to move to the landing. It was actually a godsent since the distance would have made a big difference and we would have had to suck a lot harder.

Josh: Thanks for spending time in the queer consulate... In my bedroom to be exact. Having you on my bed.. Well, you know ;) . Honestly it was cool to hangout with you, and don't forget your queer consulate card next time.

Chris: Thanks for sitting down and chilling out, and being too cool to stop by the Queer Consulate (Hence forth refered to as the QC unless otherwise stated). You did a really good job with the Vendor area and the wardriving contest.

Grifter: You did a great job with everything you ran. Being my second favorite mormon is not an easy task, but you always come through and shine to keep that coveted position. I'm glad you and your guys don't participate in the Scavenger Hunt... we wouldn't want to have to school you too ;) . And no, I wasn't going to leave without saying good bye.

The Scavenger Hunt judges (A, Manic Velocity, Tierra, ect): thanks for a great challenge this year. I give a special thanks to A for deleting our team on the first day... But seriously, you guys did a great job and put up with a lot of shit and us talking your ears off. Sorry you had to be witness to some of the escapades of myself and my teammates (but you did ask for it).

The Wardriving Organizers (Dara, Converge, AlxRogan, Thorn, C0n): Sorry I didn't compete this year even after signing up. But from what I did get to see and hear of the contest you all did a wonderful job and are to be commended. Running any Defcon event isn't easy and it shows by the success of yours the amount of time and effort you put into it.

To the Lockpick Organizers (719): Thanks for making the contest very enjoyable. I really did enjoy watching it and you can see the amount of time and work you all put into it.

Neural: You did a great job with the TCP/IP Appliance contest. Like any event, a first year is hard and getting people involved is even harder. I hope next year many people will see how interesting the contest is, and work to unseat the current champion. You were also there everytime I walked into the contest area which definitely shows your level of dedication to the contest and the community at large.

Leetest Link Organizers: First off, sorry I scream "we want Hacker Jeopardy back" during the show which made Grifter turn around and say "never gunna happen". You guys put a lot of hard work into it and while there were some issuances that is always to be expect with the first year of any event. Personally I viewed the LL this year as a learning experience, and really don't want to see HJ come back. With the knowledge you have now I think you can move forward and not only rival HJ but surpass it.

AlxRogan: Thanks for coming to hangout in the QC and being the only person I made CD's for to actually come and pick them up.

Kelvin, Tactius, Kallahar: Thanks for building that amazingly cool robot. You may have been the only people participating in the contest, but that just shows how much you care about the community and how much cooler you are then most people. I think most others probably just ph34r'd your leet skills.

Citadel: Thanks for coming into my room and trying to steal the beer without asking.

Tinkerbell (aka DigitalWigle): I hope you enjoyed your first con. Over the weekend I saw you lose some of your arrogance and calm down. My only word of advice to you is don't go up on the roofs again. Not only for yourself but for the sake of everyone else and the con as a whole.

Shalome: Thanks for punching that guy right outside the Queer Consulate infront of jesus and his disciples. It gave us a good laugh, even if it did defiled the sanctity of the QC.

Simple3: Stick to beer, and watch your intake. Stitch and I don't tag people and we will always help people back to their room. But we enjoy not being scared, so take it easy next time.

Weird Guy at Quarks: Don't be a douche, saying "in texas we shoot queers" only makes me really want to mess with you. And us queers carry too ;)

Justabill: Thanks for partying with us, you kepts everything calm and pretty chill. I hope your unusually large testicals shrink soon.

Security guards (guys in blue): It's nice to party at defcon when you should is over, but watch the amount of liquor you consume and don't get too out of hand... It undermines your authority when you "party" too hard and get out of hand.

To the head Deputy Dog (guys in white shirts): I'm sorry you couldn't get into the Police Academy, but it's nothing to cry over. If you give into people goading you then it just makes YOU look bad.

Bascule: Sorry I didn't get to hangout with you much, and sorry your powerpoint during your talk didn't work at first. Relax on the narcotics, it will help you in the long run.

Oversight: Thanks for being too cool to come over and say hello.

Detok: Thanks for being too cool to show up for Con.

Skroo: Sorry you couldn't make it, I hope you're feeling better. It would have been nice to see you again, but hopefully there's always next year.

Humperdink: Thanks for making the Leetest Link really fun to watch. Those of us in the QC were laughing our asses off.

Blossom: You are the ultimate spy of the QC. Thanks for hanging out with us, stitch and I enjoyed your company very much. Your clothes for the Scav Hunt drag thing were also good. It was nice finally being able to put a face to a name and you are a very cool person.

ChemX: Everytime I heard your name I thought of "Chemical Ali"... I'm glad you loosend up after awhile and had fun. It was nice to hangout with you and I really hope we get to see not just blossom next year but also you. I would really like to get to know you better as well. Maybe you can show us some of your leet coding skillz ;)

McGruffD: It was very nice to hangout with you. Sorry I didn't have more time to talk to you, I would have enjoyed sitting down and having a better conversation. Maybe I'll take a trip out to Colorado to hangout with you and the 719 group before the next Defcon.

Thorn: It was nice getting to meet you, sitting down and talking with you. Finally got to put a face to a name. I enjoyed the conversation about work and you finally got rid of that "white" fed esc shirt. You did a good job with the WD Competition and I really hope you come out to DC next year and we have a chance to talk more.

Renderman: Sorry I peed on your leg. You're a really cool guy, and an asset to the wardriving community. Thanks for letting the queer consulate hold onto Kyle during the Con. It was good hanging out with you and chilling.

Pezz: Thank you for making me drink out of that 6 foot long straw at quarks... I had a good time hanging out with you for the short period of time that we did, both at quarks and during the con itself. You may not remember some of it since you appeared to be intoxicated to a great level each time I saw you.

This was part 1, there is still a great deal of you I would like to thank and will in part 2, but to save time I decided to post this to try to help keep track of things.

      Part 2

      Thanks from the Queer Consul

      Part 2:

Team Jesus: It was a lot of fun being one of the disciples. I think everyone enjoyed it, especially when we kicked the B&W ball up a notch (pun intended) and finally got people onto the dance floor. It was neat being a massive group walking in and out of area's, out presence was definitely known. "Jesus didn't wear a fucking tunic" - Jesus Phreakers.

WiFi Shootout winners: Congrats on winning the contest, but also for being the future of Defcon and the community as a whole. It makes me very happy in the day when the fucktards and script kiddies run rampant to know that there are guys like you out there who will help the hacking community survive and prosper in the future.

Alkylloyd: Thanks for buying me a beer, hanging out in the QC for a while, and just being a good guy overall. I had a lot of fun hanging out with you during con and I can wait to do it again.

1master: You Definitely are the real deal. When we arrived early sunday morning for the Scav hunt and you had already been there for two hours in the freezing cold contest area room that really showed me what kind of person you are. Especially after driving for four hours during the middle of the night. You seemed to have great dedication and deserved to win the WD contest. Thanks for telling us about "the tiger".

Converge and mfreeck: While I didn't get to hangout with you as much as I would have like to, the times we did were cool. Congrats on the engagement, I'm glad I wasn't there for it though, since no-one likes to see a grown man cry. mfreeck, we definitely need to have a burping contest sometime and converge... excellent job on the WD competition and the toxic BBQ, you deserve a pat on the back for being an intrugal part of the community.

Winn: Thanks for the light of a smoke, and for not knowing The Davinci Virus. Apparently my heterosexual counterparts were also quit smitten with your daughter.

Twinvega: Thanks for going MIA for a good part of con and for having the guts to drink our home brew. Sorry that we walked in on you and that girl shagging which negated your ability to get play. And thanks for making those great badges and hanging out with us pre-con.

Ck3k: You seemed much more relaxed and chill this year. As did your heterosexual life partner. You and TV and definitely bert and ernie. I had a good time hanging out with you and there are so many memorable experiences that I don't want to dilude any and narrow it down to just one. Though I will thank you for chilling in the QC.

Kampf: Thanks for watching me shake my thang in the tinfoil speedo. I am sure you enjoyed the show.

Queeg: Thanks for your shine, hanging out in the QC and introducing us to your wonderful girlfriend.

Flea: Apparently you were too cool to stop by the QC. But I had a lot of fun hanging out (even if that part of my time there is abit hazy) with ya when we did and also thanks for the cheese.

Jim: It was nice getting to hangout with you and talk to you on a personal level.

Lil_freak & H3adrush: I am very glad I got to meet you this year. Your homebrewed wine was excellent, even with the cork. Hanging out with you and h3adrush was a lot of fun, you guys are awesome... Now go make some hacker babies! H3, your a great guy I hope you had as much fun hanging out in the QC with stitch and I, as we did with you.

Shanker: Dude, you are a really great guy. Between the pools and the BBQ and the QC I had tons of fun just chilling with you and talk. And stitch loved your hair cut.

Art: Hanging out with you by the pools was a lot of fun and you definitely get some major kudo's for driving that hurse.

Netisto: I'm glad you didn't kill prantum. Getting blood off the carpet of the QC would not have been a fun thing.

Hackajar: Thanks for drinking apple Juice. It was good to have a little bit of competiton with the Scav Hunt. Hopefully you pick a better team next year and they all work hard together. And yes, your brother is gay. I too like londo and siviak have retired from Scav Hunt competition. But I'm sure team jesus will put up a good fight.

Cotman: It was good getting to meet you, and thanks for the beer. You seem to be a lot less long winded in person, but I wish you would have talk more, since it's easier to do so in person. I would have like to have gotten to know you better.

BW: Where ever you are, you still have left of profounding impact upon the community.

ASTcell: You definitely are a great photographer and I enjoyed hanging out with you for the time we did. Thanks for talking to "greg".

Russ: I was disappointed I didn't get to hangout with you this year. But glad I got to see you on sunday. And on an even brighter note, you didn't get a QC card so you are still open game. ;)

Jackalope: We really didn't have a chance to hangout this year, and exchange shirts but I listen to some of your sets and they were excellent.

B4ndit: I had a good time meeting you and hanging out with you. Your definitely a good guy and party pretty fucking hard.

Nulltone: You are my favorite young metro-sexual. You put a lot of hard work into con between the vendor area and the forums meets not to mention the 100s of other jobs you did that we don't even know about. I wish we had had more time to hang out, but I enjoyed our conversation for the time we did.

Shatter: I'm glad we got to talk a bit, and your story at that tranny fight was fucking hilarious.

Ndex: Stitch and I really had fun hanging out with you in the QC, in your room at the BBQ ect.. Sorry about the food posioning. You definitely became an intergal part in the QC operation. We also had a lot of fun after the BBQ on the way back "Sunday, Bloody Sunday" with you, dcmom, siviak and kallahar.

DcMom (siviaks mom): You are my favorite Mormon. Stitch and I had great time hanging out with you. I'll probably write you a private email later to say everything I want to and thank you more. But you are truly a great person and your son is lucky to have you.

This was part 2 of 3, there is still a great deal of you I would like to thank and will in part 3, but to save time I decided to post this to try to help keep track of things.

Kree: Thanks for being too cool to chill with us ;)

To the guys who messed with me on the first night, be happy that I'm not big for fighting at Defcon.

To the guys who messed with Stitch, be happy that I and many people on here weren't around, because you would have gotten your collective asses kicked.

Hackajar: Thanks for drinking apple Juice. It was good to have a little bit of competiton with the Scav Hunt. Hopefully you pick a better team next year and they all work hard together. Sno: Thanks for coming to hangout with us for a bit, sorry we didn't get to talk much. I guess we were both really busy.

Gaybe: You're definitely a great guy, and it was really hard to call you by your handle. I had a so much fun hanging out with you and thanks for protecting stitch.

Denerious: Joe, I love you an a totally platonic way. You're one of my best friends and I had a great time hanging out with you. You definitely rule.

Spahkle: Thanks for hanging out with us, I had a fun time with you after the your kamakazie incident... but seriously, don't worry about it. If there was one place to have any kind of trouble, it was in the QC, we know who to take care of a man ;)

Che: Your homebrew ruled. Stitch and I both had a lot of fun chilling with you, and we hope you had fun with us too. It's a good thing all the women think your sexy, it takes the pressue off us gay man a bit ;)

Kelvin: You did an awesome job on the Scavenger hunt, you were such an asset to the team I can't even state it enough. You still owe me a t-shirt. I had gobs of fun hanging out with you and getting to know you a lot better.

Octalpussy & Kryonik: Thanks for driving us to the airport and having breakfast with us monday morning. Thanks for inviting us to your vow reknewals and marrakech (I guess geeks can't do math!). Thanks for driving stitch to the base to stock up on goodies and beer.... I could go on for a while thanking you for all you have done. But both stitch and I would like to say thank you and we love you guys as our close friends. You both are really great people.

Godminus1: Jesus.... I hope we can come down to Baltimore soon to chill with you in person, since the things said here wouldn't be nearly as fun as doing it in person.. But thanks, you're a real friend.

Siviak: I love you man... 'nuff said.

Londo and X-stasy: You made our time at Defcon really memorable, from picking us up at the airport and letting us crash the first night with you, to our awesome political and philosophical conversation to just hanging out with us and being our friends. You two were there whenever we needed you and you will always have a special place in our hearts.

Everyone that came to hangout in the QC: We hope you had fun with us, we enjoyed hosting the QC and hope to do so again next year. It was nice to have a place where every could just come and hangout and get away from the partying for a bit. A place to sit and talk and just be yourself.

Thanks to everyone who bought a ToxicBBQ, came to the ToxicBBQ and Organized it. It was a great event I hope to be involved with it again in the future.

If I missed you on my list, then I apologize and it was probably just an oversight. PM me and I'll be happy to add you. Thank you all for making Stitch and my time at defcon fun, exciting and memorable this year. We can't wait to hangout with you all again.

Thanks you: You have a lot of good energy and without people like you, the con would not be as memorable as it is. Perhaps next year I won't be pulled in so many directions and we'll get to hang out more. :-)

Cheers, doing better thanks. It just means that next year I have to drink twice as much to make up for lost time :) Glad to hear that by all accounts it was a pretty kickass year; I'm sorry I missed it.

We had a great time. C0n deserves a lot of credit for staying up most of the night debugging code. By the way, Medic was the other member of the team.

I enjoyed meeting you, too, and appriciate the time you took to make sure I was meeting other people and wasn't sitting around by myself. Sorry I didn't make it to the QC, but maybe next year. I've still got the QC badge, although my wife did raise an eyebrow when she saw it. :) We'll definately have to talk some more next year.
