Just wondering if any of the Cali residents were knocked on their ass by the recent quake. Tell your earthquake story here.

Heh, did you feel it all the way in Utah?

It was a 6.0 halfway between San Francisco and Los Angeles...I was about 170 miles from the epicenter and didn't feel it.

We over here in tri-state area on the east coast took quite an ass whipping from the remains of hurricane Jeanne. Just a few miles from me, two tornado's touched down, tearing the roofs and slamming trucks around in a parking lot of a local mall. A street light literally was torn from the cement and tossed on top of a row of cars in the parking lot. The rain was insane and flooded everything. Including my own basement. Had to go down there and remove all my electronics, including my box from which I speak to you now. It was hell, busy cleaning up today.

No, because I'm smart and got a house on a hill.

Which could be worse in the event that there is a quake big enough to cause a landslide. But for the time being, you're in the clear.

Except that I live on the east coast in an area where earth quakes don't normally happen. So I think I'm very safe.

we also had an eartquake in turkey. it was 4.5 but you may know ther was a 7.4 in 1999 and so many people died. I wish you do not feel the same things never.

earthquakes.. bah. Mt. St. Helens has been in a state of "constant tremor" for the last 48 hours indicating the new magma is flowing upward in the mountain.

Our ground doesn't just shake, it convulses and blows chunks. Now, stories of exploding mountains and flash floods of boiling pyroclastic mudflows that rip old growth forest out of the ground like twigs is entertainment!
That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

You're right... It's so much worse than the hurricanes or earthquakes everywhere else has had to deal with.

Not to sound unsympathetic, but for fuck's sake this is not a 'who can have the worst cataclysm' contest.
