I have read phrack from time to time, sometimes they have decent information, sometimes it's pure shit, you pays your money and you takes your chances.

Yeh well I'm kinda new and I had a question about something mentioned in their latest issue. It talked about an x86 architecture and I wanted to know what that was. Thanks.

I didnt really know where to put this...

x86 means that it is 86 times faster than the previous chip. Now there are RISC chips, where there are little game pieces inside the chip, and a little map of the world. Instructions to the little soldiers are very simple, so the soldiers don't have to be that smart (you still have to roll the dice though)- Then there are the CISC (short for CISCO, the captain of the DS9 space station)- he's a smart guy, so he gives really complex instructions to aliens on the little space station (also on the chip)-

Now the most kick butt processors are the 486sx es (the sx stands for 'sexy' because the floating points of fat have been trimmed off)- much cooler than the dx chips (but don't tell DMX that, he loves those chips!)

    Chips are fun!
