Fair enough. You're probably right, it was just another point that someone brought up elsewhere.
Any you never know...the internet isn't perfect, you could have a problem.

Those numbers seem more than "rough".

200ms round-trip time? Probably closer to 75ms.

150ms reaction time? That is assuming the person is responding to a random event. When hunting, however, animals don't just appear from nowhere; we see them, predict their course, and react accordingly. In other words, there will not be a delay due to reaction time.

50ms for processing time? Probably fair (or even on the short side).

So perhaps a 0.1s delay which, with experience or technology, people can compensate for.

I read another forum that had this. Someone brought up the issue of lag.
Say you are in Europe.
Lag for video camera display to get to you: ~100ms
Reaction time on home computer: ~150ms
Lag for signal to get back to texas: ~100ms
Mechanical time for it to be processed: ~50ms?

Very rough timings, but that adds up to 0.4 seconds...that long enough for the animal to walk a bit futher and for you just to injur it.

I'm a vegetarian, but have gone on hunting trips with others while they hunt and I take a different view.
First, this site offers meat processing through another party, so people who kill something can eat it and not just kill for the sake of killing. Next, they provide a service for people who are handicapped to gain a sense of what it is like to hunt if they are unable to get their own hunting deck/tent/point/site.

Is it wrong to kill animals? That is politics and sometimes religion.
Is it the right of everyone to kill animals? Politics too with a little law.
Is it wrong to kill for just the sport of killing when the creature is not eaten or used in some productive way? I have strong feelings about this, but there is no point to state them here.

I will say this: it is an innovative use of technology, and I am glad that they have the opportunity to build it and market it even if I choose not to use it.

i hope they physically make safe their rifles, if they were made safe by a computer it is very dangerous.

A hacker could wait until the guy is changing the target and the wham! All it would take would be to hack the computer, re,enable the rifle, the guy would be about 200yrds away, he wouldn't know what is going on, bang, bang, bang!!!!!

Could the hacker then get called up for murder?How could it be proven that the hacker clicked the mouse to fire the round?
