The part about Linux has to be the funniest part of the ridiculous article. Take a look at that poll on the right.

I like: Popular hacker software includes "Comet Cursor", "Bonzi Buddy" and "Flash".

This one is also classic: "You should ensure all the firearms in your house are carefully locked away, and have trigger locks installed. You should also bring your concerns to the attention of his school".

also in last years news, "August in Las Vegas is always hot, but the airwaves will be burning when DEFCON kicks off August 1-3, 2003, at the Alexis Park Hotel." ...
if it gets me nowhere, I'll go there proud; and I'm gonna go there free.

I agree that the linux part was the best. A friend of my son saw that he was running linux and asked him why he was using an operating system for men with facial hair.

The comments are also great, a year after the article was published, people were still getting steamed and posting loooooooong point-by-point rebuttals.

Any surprise that she suggests AOL as your "trusted" ISP?

Although the "hacker software" part was funny, my two favorites were the "AMD processors are a cause for alarm" and the description of how "hackers dress"

Reading that more reminded me of ravers...and at least in my school, I don't see any of these h4x0rs around. Guess my school isn't 31337!! dang..well at least I can go try Quake to meet some friends. :)

You know what I think is funny are the new NetZero ads mimicking the AOL members opinions count commercials.
                Did Everquest teach you that?

Or the fact that NetZero hired the same actors that AOL had...

Come on, everyone knows that AOL *is* the internet.

you're right... few things have made me laugh this hard.... all this time I though t"SnowCrash" was a work of fiction. As it turns out I was learning to hack.. and for those of you out there that don't think I am a hacker I got like 8 out of 10 in that checklist.. so there I AM a hacker!

                        Fucking Rediculous
If I had a nickle for every time someone offered me ten cents to keep my two cents to myself... I would be a rich man.
