Hello everyone, this is my first question. What's a null netbios session and how do I launch one?
And one more thing. Kinda direct, but, i have to ask it. "Computer Security" - does this term reffers to HACKING or ANTIHACKING? Guys I met were calling themselfs security analists and were doing hacking stuff on different servers.

EDITED: yay! i just read the rules :( sorry for my introduction i just wanna say i have big problems ... I deleted a part of it, here's the rest.

Hello everyone..hope i won't piss you off with my message. I am administrator of an internet cafe a big network (home network that is, about 200 users in my neighberhood joined up). Shame for me, I have no idea on security. And someone (or more ) took advantage over that so I recently had problems with security. Users told me they had their drives formated, computers braked into, personal data stolen etc, etc, etc. I came here so I can learn how to prevent this guys from doing so (or perhaps, join 'em, you know how they say ... "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em". Hmz... lol.. that would be nice). As a hobby i do programmin' in viusal basic, learning beginners' stuff on C/C++ and learning to log in/out on my slackware10 ). What else should I add..age, height? Lol, it's not IRC..ok,ok... i'm from romania, and 17 yrs old. Was this presentation enough?
Hope I`ll get around with you guys. Thanks for understanding and cooperation

This question has been asked on these forums before, and I think a simple google search provided the answer. see what happened when someone else asked a similar question on "null sessions"

Yep. Nope. Maybe. Some people who are into computer security are hackers, some are not, and some navigate both planes of existence.

"Anti-hacking" seems to suggest someone who is "against hacking." :-/

The conventional definition of hacking refers to the process where an intimate understanding of a particular thing is gained or (ab)used to a desired end-- usually technology, often in computers. "Anti Hacking" would be... um... Against people having intimate understanding of a technology... (?)

Guys I met were calling themselfs security analists and were doing hacking stuff on different servers.
There are people who calls themselves "good" but that does not make it true.

      i just read the rules...
Excellent. :-) Suggestion for future posts: Use google to answer questions first.
