I don't like talking to reporters. IIRC, the only person wearing a press badge at DefCon that I spoke to was astcell.

I thought about including this one for you, but was not sure how you would take it:

We interviewed Voltage Spike about the end of DefCon and he had this to say, "Microsoft has fixed all of their security problems, so we no longer need DefCon. In other news, I have decided to give up using any form of crypto, because only criminals use crypto and I trust all governments."

April 1, 2005 - ROOTERZ - Las Vegas / Seattle / Los Angeles:
In an unprecidented move, Dark Tanget has started accepting donations from Microsoft, SCO, and certain large network security corporations to cancel DefCon this year.

"Yep. They just offered us too much money, and since we were going to cancel it again this year, we decided that we (goons) could all use some free houses and a pair of solid gold Hummers to use up space in the driveways." said Dark Tangent. "They also gave us free copies MS Windows 95 and the original release of SCO Linux, so we just couldn't pass it up."

We contacted Noid who offered these words, "Oh. DefCon may be cancelled, but that does not mean you should stop sending me free alcohol."

Oddly enough, Chris had a similar comment: "You know the rules: no beer, no interview."

We found High Wizard who said this, "Don't be dumb. DefCon has just been moved, but only the most elite know where."

When we asked Astcell about DefCon being cacnelled, he said, "You're new around here, aren't you?"

We asked skroo, and he said, "How did you find out about this so soon? DefCon being cancelled was supposed to be a secret."

This would have been DefCon 13, but as it turns out, 13 really is an unlucky number for a long series of cancelled DefCon.
