I guess that is true with the airlines and the passenger lists as well as the IRS and the Federal Census.

Nope. Maybe someone else knows you. I kept to myself for many Years of DefCon.

I'm not noteworthy or important enough for feds to keep an eye on me; they know I am clueless. Maybe I should look at a new hobby to get their attention.

    Defcon IV and on.

    Hello.

I have been to Defcon 4 and about half of the ones since.
Talk about someone who the feds want to watch.
I am a ham, active on HF, and speak Arabic.
I love to see what the hardware can do, and the means phreaking the local CO and MTSO.
I think SS7 is a really cool protocol.
I feel that The Phone Company security is a joke, and love to play pranks.
Do you know who I am at this point?
Hint, the radio I carried at the last one was a Kenwood TH F6 totally whored out for both transmit and listen, hotel security, housekeeping, the "goons GMRS" radios, whatever.
My thing was and is, communications.
Just think about it for a minute.

Thread to help in spotting a fed

If you remember the 'original' DefCon, AutoVon, and all of the other cold war relics, are you labeled a "fed"?
Not necessarily. If they seem like a fed, then aybe they are. You will have to see if they are what qualified as a fed.

Remember, there are a LOT of people out there who are not "out to get you".
This does not mean whip out your stash of hash for the world to see, but lets not look under every rock every second.
I would be more worried about the press at this point.
Have you been to DefCon before?
