I've noticed a sluggishness in response today that is worse than usual, and it does not appear to be a latency/BW issue according to some simple tests.
Running out of memory? Excessive swapping?

ATM, 93 (8 members and 85 guests) does not seem too heavy. We had 200+ users about aweek ago and it was still pretty fast.

    [Added content:]
More testing shows there appears to be network issues that may be related. Significant changes in latency, and occasionally dropped packets. Latency average was around 259.8ms with a max of 1094.2ms and a min of 46.0ms. Normally, it is around 45-70 for most small ICMP packets from here to there.

Take the hint: nobody likes hippies (not even forum software).

How about TheCotMan's earlier problem with disappearing threads? Is this related to the UFO activity? Was The Dark Tangent's rumor post a sign of impending doom? Will this post be eaten by the Linux? Stay tuned for next year's exciting, uncancelled Defcon!

I chalked to BW issues up to evil do'ers in our mitst. Thought it would clear up soon. Happening since Friday I think. Fine at night though.

Yeah, lag can get bad sometimes, but its all being worked on. The forums will eventually be on a faster connection.

As for that odd error message, I'll look into it.

Well as there is a thrread here I'll post this...I wasn't going to bother, but there we go.

anyone else find www.defcon.org slow recently. Was trying to check some stuff, and it just seemed to take ages to load.
