  • Pink Floyd reunites!

    Somebody has to care...

    http://www.rollingstone.com/news/sto...region=single1

Pink Floyd's classic Seventies lineup -- bassist/frontman Roger Waters, guitarist David Gilmour, keyboardist Richard Wright and drummer Nick Mason -- will take the stage for the first time in more than two decades at London's Hyde Park on July 2nd as part of the Live 8 concerts.

"Any squabbles Roger and the band have had in the past are so petty in this context," Gilmour said, "and if reforming for this concert will help focus attention then it's going to be worthwhile."

Since creative issues led to the band's acrimonious split with Waters, the chief architect of 1973's Dark Side of the Moon and 1979's The Wall, he has pursued a solo career while Gilmour assumed leadership of the group. (Waters tried unsuccessfully in 1986 to prevent Gilmour and Co. from continuing as Pink Floyd without him. He had replaced founding Floyd singer Syd Barrett as the band's leader in 1968.) July 2nd will mark the first time this lineup has performed together since 1981.

Waters, long at work on a follow-up to 2002's solo album, Amused to Death, recently completed an opera, Ca Ira, targeted for a fall release. Gilmour has been at work on his third studio album, his first in more than twenty years.

This April, Mason hinted of a reunion, telling Rolling Stone that Pink Floyd were not ready to call it a day -- even after an eleven-year hiatus. "Last year [David] really had no interest in revitalizing the band," he said. "But I think it's interesting that he also hasn't declared it over. No one has actually said 'never again.'" He went on to add, "We did all make each other laugh. The bulk of the years was spent having a good time. It's still about the best job in the world."

In addition to the London show, Live 8 concerts featuring artists from Stevie Wonder to Jay-Z and Green Day will take place simultaneously in Philadelphia, Paris, Berlin and Rome.
Gee, wonder if Bob Geldof had a hand in this...

Why so hostile, did he touch your special place or something?

Frankly, I don't know if he did it or not. All I was convinced of is that he's quite insane.

I thought the mother and child did not seem sincere at all. She seeming like a lying bitch who would use her kid to get money.

I also think the mother should be charged for allowing her kids to sleep over at jackson's in the first place. Any good parent who was not hoping to make a quick buck would have never allowed that.

There was reasonable doubt, imho. At least why I saw, I didn't watch all the coverage or anything. And to be honest, I'm just glad it's over so we can stop hearing about it.

The main reason I think he may not have done it was there is no reason too. You can buy a kid in many 3rd would countries for a carton of smokes for fucks sake. Why rick molesting a kid with parents when you can buy your vary own sex slave who no one will ever come looking for.

                Just a thought.

I just think that anyone who does what he did should be punished. Sleeping with little kids...having porno in the room with them..that kind of stuff, isn't right.

True the mother shouldn't have let her kids there, but she wouldn't have the opportunity to allow them if the offer wasn't made in the first place. It's not like she threw her kids at the gate of his ranch and said, "PLEASE, take my kids into your bed with you."

Your point about the 3rd world country is a good one, and I agree, but that doesn't take away from what happened here.

Whatever, it's just what I think.

the sad thing is Jak-o's still booking kids a year in advance.

I agree, if he did any of that. But so far all they have proved is he might of slept in the same bed with kids, which isn't wrong. Not a smart thing to do, but not like molesting a kid, which is a killing offence in my book.

True the mother shouldn't have let her kids there, but she wouldn't have the opportunity to allow them if the offer wasn't made in the first place. It's not like she threw her kids at the gate of his ranch and said, "PLEASE, take my kids into your bed with you."
She knew he'd been accused of molesting kids in the past. That would be enough for me to not let my child sleep over.

She also lied about her kids insurance to get money, and hit other celebs up for money. Doesn't make her look good.

Your point about the 3rd world country is a good one, and I agree, but that doesn't take away from what happened here.
                        If anything happened.

Whatever, it's just what I think.
And if he did it, I totaly agree with you.

However, they didn't present a believeable case. Which is sad if the kid really was molested. It would suck if the mother being an asshole blew it for her kid.

I'm not saying he's innocent, I'm saying they made a bad case.

I agree with that. The prosecution did a terrible job even if Michael was guilty.

But to get the thread back on subject, why did Roger Waters just now decide to get back together with them? Did he find Live Aid to be that important of an event or did he just want some moolah?

A very good question. I haven't been following his career or anything, but last i checked his solo stuff wasn't doing that well.

Have you seen the line ups for the different shows? How come London gets Pink Floyd while we in the US get Bon jovi? WTF?

On the bright side, London also gets Mariah Carey, maybe she'll stay there.
