  • OpenSolaris released today

    http://opensolaris.org/

I'm thoroughly amazed by how incredibly clean, functionally modularized, and well commented the codebase is. Check out some of the VM code through the awesome source browser:

    http://cvs.opensolaris.org/source/xr.../vm/seg_kmem.c

It certainly doesn't ascribe to the "proprietary software is all hacks and kludges!" myth OSS zealots like to spread...

That was a troll. You should be ashamed. I'm ashamed and all I did was read it.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Anyways, getting back on topic here, anyone else have any thoughts on the code?

C|Net had a story with extensive coverage of Solaris engineers' blogs
