whoa, that LockPick Station Plus is pretty wicked. yeah, it's pricey, but they've knocked it down to half off, and it comes with an 18 piece pick set and three practice cylinders that appear to be cut-away style. all in all, that's a terrific deal.

Yeah, I thought so too, but I also get flack for spending $400 on picking tools!

But yeah, the reason I pointed it out, was because it really does look like a TRUE beginner kit that comes with everything you need to start playin'.

I remember a month ago I was planning on saving my money. Now this thread plus the wireless one discussing the 200mw cards has kinda killed that idea. That practice thing is pretty dang cool though.

What kind of locks do people recommend practicing on? Unfortunately the lock on my door over the summer is ridiculously difficult (really deep, and is an always locked "turn key opens door" type) so I'm going to pick up some padlocks to practice with at work. Any cheap lock do for a begineer?

Never underestimate the power of just asking. I've got about 100 lbs of knob locks (hehehe, he said knob...) from a guy after reading my request for locks on my website. They had redone thier entire office and were going to throw them out, so he just gave them to me since he knew I wanted them.

Don't go spending a fortune at home depot. Friends, realatives, just about everyone has old deadbolts or padlocks they don't have the key for lying around and they will be more than happy to have you get rid of them.

Construction material recyclers (recycled doors, windows, etc) are a huge resource and often have buckets of old doorknobs sitting there for you to root through.
