Did anyone else magically have charges apear on thier credit card? I am just curious, i am not the only one so far.. lucikly i had no money on that paypal account ;).
Yea, $1,730 so far. And that is over and above the room amount. Looks like they did this:
Charged me the FULL AMOUNT on check in
Charged me the FULL AMOUNT on check out.
Charged me the FULL AMOUNT MINUS ONE DAY on check out since I preregistered.
Charges me the FULL AMOUNT MUNIS ONE DAY that I actually signed for.
So my credit card has the extra $1,730 against it's available balance and maybe or maybe not paid. I am so glad I did not use an ATM card.

I did not, but I will say (and I guess it should be obvious) that you really need to call in during "business hours" to take care of this stuff. I had problems last year that I tried to resolve when I wasn't working. The night shift tries to be helpful but are, for the most part, powerless. (If you are curious, it took sixteen phone calls to get them to take back the charge, but they came around eventually.)
Wouldn't surprise me. I have caught them trying to add 'water damage' fees and shit to my card.. even though I am possibly one of the best guests a hotel room could have, never let other folks in it, and pretty much use it to pass out for a few hours out of the weekend.
if it gets me nowhere, I'll go there proud; and I'm gonna go there free.
My card has an extra $511 against it. When I called AP today (Friday) they transferred me to the concierge (SP?!). I got a voicemail saying they were open from 8AM to 4PM....and I called at 2:30PM PST. I'm a bit late on rent b/c of this, and not happy.
Well whoever flooded my room out, thier room had to have had a good inch of water in it.. because water was pouring out my light fixtures, out the sprinker system, & out the cracks in the walls. My floor was sloshing when you walked, each bed had a sprinkler on top of it, each bed had a puddle on the matress because of the sprinkers above. The entire gap between floors must have been filled with water..
So I imagine they recieved a bill for thier room, all the carpet and whatever else, and then 2 matresses, the ceiling water damage, and carpet damage for the room below them and possibly the room beside mine since water spread over 20 feet in my room.
That person has got to have a hell of a bill.. Maintenance said they walked in and "turned the tub off".
I just had an extra $50 charge show up on my card. When I try to contact the Alexis to find out what it is for they transfer me to a voice mail. I've had a room there for the past 5 years at least and have never before had random additional charges show up.
Everything seemed to be overly confused this year. I and a few others I spoke with were issued keys to rooms that already had people in them. When they do this the correct persons keys stop functioning. I know of at least 3 people they did this to.
When my roommate called to report the flood in our room.. It took 20 minutes for maintenance to get to the room above and turn the water off. The room was in the building next to the office. Youd think they'd come faster when you say water is pouring out of the light fixtures.
I get to join the club now, one of the guys staying in my room paid the balance of the room on his card. So instead of me, his card was charged $50 for what someone said was carpet cleaning.
I called twice to find out what the hell the charge was for and they cant even find the charge.. After 9 calls and 3 people they are currently "researching it" and are supposed to call me back when they find the details..
I can only imagine they charged to shampoo the carpet in the room I was flooded out of.. the same one they credited me back half for my inconvenience.
I too have an unauthorized $50 charge. I've contacted the AP twice and have only gotten accounting's voice mail, and they haven't called back yet. I'll give them till wednesday and them I'm reporting it to the CC company as fraud.

i've not yet received my amex bill, so i don't know if i'm going to be bitching in a few days, but... i distinctly remember when checking out the front desk woman asked me about internet charges (one of my roommates bought the in-room high-speed internet for two days) and then i saw her writing up some kind of miscellaneous charge form in the amount of $50.
is there a connection? i don't know yet. internet should not have cost that much, particularly when, IIRC (i should go check the bill) it was only $10 per day.
