heya... i figure i'll ask this question right now since when i came home from both DC12 and DC11 i had this on my mind, never brought it up, and ended up stuck at the next defcon without knowledge that could have been useful.
i ask you, locals and other wise ones...
where is it possible to purchase large quantities of decent beer in las vegas? it seems like everytime i'm there pre-defcon i end up either driving to the local quickee-mart at the corner for overpriced liquor or participating in a search of supermarkets, strip malls, and other such destinations in the hope of finding a selection of beer in FULL CASES that isn't just your garden variety domestic and domestic light.
here out east where i am there are basically two kinds of places to buy beer, depending on state law:
however... it seems like when i venture further out, either to the south or to destinations like nevada, alcohol is sold in so many places (convenience stores, gas stations, etc) that no place is in just the BEER business... at least far fewer places. i searched in vain for almost one whole pre-con day for a store where i could get Guiness draft cans and similar items by the case in vegas. i ended up just cleaning out a shelf of some display fridge at a guy's little booze shop and taking all his four-can packs... i got barely two cases worth of beer that way.
someone point me in the right direction... i know you must have beer depots somewhere out by you... i just haven't found them. i wanna be able to walk out of a store with a hand cart, upon which at least half a dozen true cases of beer are resting. is that asking too much?

- you have states in which big-ass liquor stores exist where you can buy anything known to man, in any category: beer, wine, spirits, etc.
- and you have states where "liquor stores" and "beer depots" are two different things... so you have mid-size liquor stores everywhere with all kinds of whatnot, and then you have huge beer distributors with cases and kegs of almost all beers known to man.
