The school district here pretty much hates myspace.com. I believe earlier this year an instructor kicked a cheerleader off a highschool team for posting tales of her sexual rendezvous.

More recently a school of 3000 had only a few hundred students show up for class after a columbine style rumor was posted.

Anyhow.. back on topic.. Im wondering with the parking being open to anyone.. if the place is going to fill up. This year should be interesting.

oh for the love of pete, that's horseshit. i hate myspace as much as the next guy, but what i hate even more is when ANY institution (school/work/government/etc) thinks they have a right to exercise control over what a person does with their own private life.

was this cheerleader posting stories about sex that occurred inside of the school? was she making the posts from school computers? if not then it's none of the school's goddamn business. it's like a town in my area where the police department and the school district work in cahoots with each other... anytime an under-age party is broken up by the cops, all the names are taken down and then given to the principal. the kids who get caugh partying on weekends not only have to deal with the criminal penalties (and of course their parents' own punishment) but then get suspensions or other disciplinary action once they show up at school on monday, as well. ridiculous, i think.

I'm quite sure that students can't be suspended for such an offense. They should have taken it to the court, I would...

Well I didnt find the instance of the chearleader locally..
But heres a very similar story..

Seriously, as much as I deplore the administration of these schools for acting the way they are towards the students, the students deserve what they're getting. Not so much for what they're doing, but for being fucking stupid enough to post the details of their wacky hijinks on the Internet where ANYONE AND THEIR DOG CAN READ IT.
