Icetre and I decided no big gifts this year due to the buying and restoring of a Scared Stiff pinball table. We decided that was our gift to each other.

heh, last year i got a case for my halibut. would have gotten one for my carp as well but all the stores were out of the larger sizes.

new phone to compete with the RAZR

i didn't realize until i saw one... the Razr isn't that astoundingly thin. when you see it in the commercials, you'd think the dimensions of width are about average, which makes the thickness look amazingly tiny. but it's not that way... it's acutally really "wide" in my opinion. (like over 2" wide, i think) it's about halfway in between a regular phone and a PDA-type phone in my opinion. and while the thickness is slim... it's just marginally smaller than most phones i've seen. i'll hold my amazed gasp until someone comes out with a phone that's 1½" wide and well under ½" thick. give me a third or quarter inch width and i'll get excited.

I'm jealous...all I got was socks, underware, a bathrobe, PJ's, slippers, Stetson After Shave, an orbital sander, a Black & Decker Jig saw, and a Silver and Gold engraved belt buckle...guess I gotta buy my own geek stuff.

The best present I got though was a Christmas card from my grandson...he's 4 years old and he just learned how to print his name.

Best Buy gift card is the geekiest gift I got. I see Sprint has a new phone to compete with the RAZR, so I may treat myself.

I got a nice laptop cooler and a PSP which is pretty nice. Nothing really other than that, but now hopefully I can try some PSP mods, I saw one involving the Wi-Fi range, but it involved soldering

Got that one myself, along with Bab5 Season 2, 10 year Anniversary of Mallrats, etc...and 3 gigabit home switches for my new home network. :-) Various and sundry knives, put-together toys, and so on. All in all, it was a good haul.

Hope everyone makes it back safely after the upcoming New Year celebrations.

Along the lines of DVDs I got Family Guy Volume Three, Serenity, Clerks Special Edition, (which rounds out my View Askew collection sans Jersey Girl but that movie sucks) and Four Brothers

My Tech gift would have to be the Dell 20.1 Inch wide screen monitor, I wanted an Apple Monitor but hey we all have our budgets. Still the Defcon forums have never looked so good as viewed through my new screen.

My girlfriend also got me a couple of strippers of different sizes.

Getting a stripper is probably better for you than getting a "stud finder." It would be equally bad if she bought you a "screw" or "stud" from the local hardware store.

Over Christmas, some girlfriends/boyfriends let their boyfriend/girlfriend upgrade their system with a peripheral to an underutilized port/slot. Some devices use high speed I/O while others seem to take forever, but the worst is when the device breaks and needs to be repaired.

Some of my gifts:
* two week visit from a buddy who normally lives overseas.
* a special 9-pack of Danish beer that is only made for Christmas
* Beavis and Butthead DVD collection, Volume 1
* LED flashlisght that is recharged by winding

No nerdy gifts, but I generally buy those on my own because I am so picky. However, I have not seen my Sig-O since before Christmas, so I don't know what gift might be from them.
