So what’s in everyone’s personal arsenal of firefox plugins?

Tamper Data 0.94: Modify http(s) information, POST GET etc, also lists all files loaded on loaded page. Makes finding hard to see config files and such much easier.

Passive Cache 1.0: Right click any link, your prompted 2 options, view the current google cache for said link, or view an archive of caches that can date back months.

FlashGot 0.5.9.99: Download one link, selected links or all the links of a page at the maximum speed with a single click. FlashGot offers also a Build Gallery functionality which helps to synthesize full media galleries in one page, from serial contents previously scattered on several pages, for easy and fast "download all".

Linkification 1.1.9: Great tool, turns plaintext into fully usable links in real time, never copy and paste a link again. Its really best if you check it out yourself here.

Google 403 error bypasser: (Not publicly available for download) Manually or automatically bypasses the google 403 error screen while searching. (contact me if your interested.)

Clippings 1.1: Like a standard clipboard, but can contain more than a single instance of text.

    I have LiveHTTPHeaders (http://livehttpheaders.mozdev.org/),
    AdBlock Plus (http://adblockplus.mozdev.org/),
    and MouseGestures (http://optimoz.mozdev.org/).

I use mouse-gestures so much that browsing on a box without it feels uncomfortable. I have a huge filter list with tons of blocked sites as well as numerous regex in my AdBlock arsenal, though. LiveHTTPHeaders is also an awesome plugin.

I guess the only one of mine that could be considered part of an arsenal are LiveHTTPHeaders, but I thought I'd post them all. I had more, but formatting happens.

Yours seem pretty interesting. I'll look into some of those later.

    EDIT: Fixed the links.

Here's what I pretty much can't live without in the way of extensions:

      - Adblock and the Adblock Filterset.G Updater. Blacklists known advertising URLs and auto-updates the blacklist.

      - Tabbrowser Preferences. Tweak some of the more annoying aspects of the browser's tab behaviour.

      - IE Tab. Load pages requiring IE in a tab in Firefox.

      - TinyURL Creator. Make TinyURLs without having to copy & paste into their form.

      - FoxyTunes. Control Winamp, XMMS, etc. from within the browser window.

      - Sage. Great lightweight RSS aggregator / reader.

      - MediaPlayerConnectivity. Do all sorts of funky stuff with streaming media.

I installed livehttpheaders, and it seems to have 1 of the same functions as tamper data. Also I installed tinyurl creator good call.

        ***EDIT:
and as for MediaPlayerConnectivity, I would like to see something like this, but with the capability to record the streaming media into a specified media type on your hard disks.

Flashblock - first plugin i ever install (and often the one that i have to pull down and add even if i'm sitting at someone else's workstation... i can't browse without it and not get pissed off)

it replaces all flash, shockwave, and other similar bullcrap content with placeholders. click once on the placeholder to download and render the content. web developers try harder and harder every day to make the browsing experience more irritating... i want to google for a band's tour dates, i don't need to feel like i'm slowly cruising down the vegas strip. turn all that horseshit off with no hassles. your eyes and bandwidth will thank you.
"I'll admit I had an OiNK account and frequented it quite often… What made OiNK a great place was that it was like the world's greatest record store… iTunes kind of feels like Sam Goody to me. I don't feel cool when I go there. I'm tired of seeing John Mayer's face pop up. I feel like I'm being hustled when I visit there, and I don't think their product is that great. DRM, low bit rate, etc... OiNK it existed because it filled a void of what people want."

Though not necessarily an extension, I'm a big fan of the Increase and Linked Images bookmarklets. They're really helpful when I'm browsing .. uh .. image galleries.

ha, I like this, here is an easy way to hack this plugin to change the default placeholder to whatever you wish.

                -------------------------
                1. Download the .xpi file, change extension to .zip, open in winrar, open folder "chrome", open "flashblock.jar" in winrar, then content/flashblock.

                2. In this directory the images for the plugin are contained, find the images;
                flash.png
                flashplay.png

The first is the (f) symbol, and the second is the triangle play button, simply edit these to whatever you want, and save the image.

                3. Save the .jar file, save the .zip file, change the .zip extension back to .xpi and install into firefox.

Here is a screenshot, I used myspace as an example because its full of flash.

Thats cool. I have DSL, and the speed is only so-so, and it really bugs me when I'm trying to scroll down but sweet time is being taken by "Click here to find your soul mate!".
Every signature I can think of at the moment is completely moronic. (the irony)

forecast fox - Weather in the bottem right corner..

adblock - wildcards and ad blocking but no placeholders you can strip the whole iframe out. (ps. beware of having too many blocks or page display speed is gonna be slower) This also will list items on the page without having to wade through source. So you can DL flash, strip flash, download scripts, etc...

Cookie editor - kinda fun/useful... (cookies sure seem to be of intrest these days, cross site cooking or whatever the fuck java raping is going on)

Sage - Very good (i'd say best) RSS/Atom reader out there... does really good job with lots of things.. plus you can skin it. Worth a try...

Switchproxy... (good for switch on/off tor/privoxy esp)

                    Thats about it currently....

And here's one I was just pointed towards: Viamatic Foxpose. I knew Accident would be good for something someday :)

Works like the F8 view in OSX, only within Firefox. Me likey.

This looks like it would be really useful. Did you by any chance have any trouble getting it to work? I ask because when I click the foxpose icon, or use the shortcut key (f8) all it does is open a blank tab.

None whatsoever, but I've only run it under Windows ATM.

I think one of my other plugins may be interfering with this, I'll find out later when I update firefox.

Okay, I have a lot of extension.... Many of them sort of work 'invisibly', and I forget they are there until I move to another computer. I won't name them all, but here are a bunch of them.

                              - Bugmenot (bypasses web registration for things like NYTIMES, etc)
                              - Tamper Data (always a favorite with the kids)
                              - Dictionary search (highlight word, right click to dictionary.com definition)
                              - Web Developer (required tool for any web dev, web tester, web auditer, etc)
                              - Disable target for downloads (prevents download links from opening in blank window)
                              - Flashblock (another requirement)
                              - Fasterfox (tweaks FF settings to improve performance - I'm not sure how helpful this is honestly, nifty feature tells you how long it takes to load your pages though)
                              - Tab Preview (preview tab contents on mouseover of tab)
                              - Adblock+AdblockFilterset.G (sometimes I forget there is advertising on the internet - I hardly see it)
                              - SessionSaver (keeps the state of your tabs/pages you are at when you restart your browser)
                              - Download Statusbar (shows downloads in a status bar with their progress, nicer and easier to deal with than the default download UI)
                              - Customize Google (removes ads, links to other search sites, forces gmail to use SSL, anonymizes google cookies, crazy crazy configurable options)
                              - Restart firefox (adds a 'restart' option to the file menu)
                              - SwitchProxy tool (useful for using Tor or changing network environments)

I know I'm missing a couple - i have more installed at home, but those are my 'basics'. While the plugins are very powerful, configuring a browser from scratch is... nontrivial.

To all those that pointed to the URLs for these extensions - you are better people than me.
