  • Breakout sessions?

It appears as though all of the speaking slots are now filled (still haven't gotten my CFP rejection yet, however....)

What are the thoughts on a breakout session (hardware based)-

For example a small at CON bot build, or something like that? Positive response?

Besides Skyboxes, are there areas available for breakout sessions like this? Thoughts?

If people participated in *doing* this, I'd probably drop in as a spectator.

I suspect that soldering irons may be frowned upon around the casino floor.. but we could test this...
if it gets me nowhere, I'll go there proud; and I'm gonna go there free.

I'd pay $5.00 just to watch.

Cash or in beer? Unless there is a schedule conflict = you are on!

Still haven't heard back from the powers that be about possible breakout sessions- I may just bring a crapload of hardware and find a friggin' place....the skyboxes that are 'open for public hanging out' might be a great place for an impromptu type deal....

Good luck with that - last year individuals were run off for selling their extra clan/group shirts or equipment they did not want to lug back home. :(

Not looking to sell, but rather a breakout session-

                        There's always a hotel room...

                        Or the pool area...

There might be an unused room. We are waiting to find out what is going on with it. If that is the case it will just be an open area, first come, first served type deal.. You could also set up maybe at the Top of the Riv, or if there is space in the contest area. You'll find a space.

I was wonder, not to steal the thread away from it's original purpose but do people sell their used hardware at DC? Is there like an indoor swapmeet for used hardware or even new hardware? If there isn't, that would be a pretty sweet thing to consider bringing into DC.

Yes. People have sold stuff at Defcon. Search through the threads, and you'll find out how people have done this in the past.
