I went to the Micro$oft XP Launch today here in DC. After getting a chance to play around with it for a while all I have to say is that information security folks should thank Micro$oft for ensuring their gainful employment for the next few years.

I don't know which part was my favorite...the return of sysconfig (with all users having rights to, and any user having rights to enable/disable services including telnet) or the remote desktop management. It warmed my heart to see the "features" that (Dollar) Bill Gates has provided for users with XP.

I have determined the best thing to do is to not let any computer running windows be attached to a network or the internet

            I must admit...

I'm actually running XP at this moment and I must say that it looks a hell of a lot like Linux... I can see why too, Linux is looking quite threatening to MiCRO$OFT.

If you can't beat em... Steal their software, eh?:p

normally i would have argued that point, but my playing around with kde2 is making me think that its getting much more viable now

Wasn't Microsoft being investigated for implimenting Linux code, and then restricting the code, thus violating open-source standards?
