But renderman do you think they would fall for it a second time. With the first one being a "nice" wake up call they should be looking out for it again right (hopefully), and if not well then I give up on society completely.

Re: Mass Myspace Goatse'ing
I remember hotlinking ... back when it was encouraged because free hosting was no more than 2000 bytes and by sharing common images the same bandwidth would get sucked down but require less individually carved disk space..

That is so funny!^H^H^H^H^H^H awful!
Nice story, good humor, quite entertaining.
Random image generation to hotlinks can also be fun. Let some loads of the image look as expected, but let others be the "new an improved" image.
It takes longer for it to catch on, and some people will still see the old image, with caching working the way it does.
"What is wrong with your page?"
"Nothing. It looks normal."
"So you put all of those images up there on purpose?"
"Of course! They really describe me as a person."
(Substitute leet-speak in the above text on your own.)

Re: Mass Myspace Goatse'ing
I was having problems with people hotlinking to the graphics on the LA2600 website. I would periodically change the graphics to goatse or something equally horrible (lemonparty). Sometimes even with edited graphics saying things like 'People that hotlink are fucking tools'. Problem seems to have stopped.

I was able to successfully describe Goatse to my wife without the horror of showing her the picture. ;)
