I wouldn't put it past some nutcase to have done it, but for them to be associated with a very respected think tank (even if they are conservative) is another question alotogether. Also, while religion is one of their areas, Heritage doesn't focus all that much on the generic creationism/evolution/atheism debates; rather the role and impact of religion on public policy at (generally) the federal level.
If they really want to make this statement, they should just take a good number of his books out into the street and burn them. It's basically the same thing (that's right, I went there). Fortunately, this group is only going to give scholars such as Bertrand Russell and Richard Dawkins a much louder voice. I personally love The God Delusion and hope that everyone makes an opportunity to read it.
