Well, the Google contest group dropped out for this year. Anyone else want to take a schwag at something similar?

We have a group working on the Google type contest for this year. I'm waiting to hear back from them as to what their exact intentions are, but it looks interesting.

Some of this has been found in CTF when defense of a box was included.

Data carving, crack this code, real vs. CG, password cracking, and hidden contest sort of stuff.

There was another code-breaking contest that was dicussed on the forums after having been run last year or the year before. Someone was complaining that they were told they found the code, but the website for the contest did not reflect this.

Good suggestions, keep them coming, and if you and your DCG wants to run a contest that has no present owner, check with Russ to see if it is possible and to make sure nobody else is running something similar and then follow the procedures to get your contest listed on the site.

Let us hope. I understand last year it was not even up for discussion.

Lifeguard - now that would be a great "goon" job! Imagine getting to pick who gets mouth to mouth and when.

Not me. Maybe in the chill out area but not the pool. Given the experiences with the pool last year, I will be surprised if there are changes this year such as being able to frolick in and around the pool, being able to have the pool open later - it closes just too damn early if you ask me. It was the one biggest disappointment I had with the hotel last year.

Not me. Maybe in the chill out area but not the pool. Given the experiences with the pool last year, I will be surprised if there are changes this year such as being able to frolick in and around the pool, being able to have the pool open later - it closes just too damn early if you ask me. heh, my inquisitive nature cannot be quelled on this one, and i have to ask... what is this? i'm assuming that it's some sort of hermit-crab type race to cross a finish line. but with some in the defcon crowd, i could totally see it as being a quality-testing operation, where people are given a variety of hardware and have to rate them in terms of how fast they got themselves off. "and the winner in this year's vibrator race is the Pearl Rabbit, which consistently managed to have people climaxing 20% faster than the Turbo Glider which was it's closest competitor."

Yes, a race is what I intended. I say we turn some vibrators on high speed and watch them crawl to the finish line.

Not that I know this from experience, but the Pearl Rabbit is currently the #1 seeded "autoerotic massagers", but we could test this ranking if we hold the Vibratolympics.
