I heard about that. I didn't see the big deal until I read some possible scenarios in the articles about people buying Vista, bringing it home, trying to activate it, then getting the 'you thief' flash on their screen because someone will have used this stuff to generate a valid id for their lifted copy. Some cynical comment about phone operators in India having fun with the fallout from that was at the end of the article too.

Excellent - thanks. That's why I get my news filtered through other people these days - half of the headlines end up being some elaborate hoax; the other half are just depressing.

I found this one the other day but hadn't had a chance to take a look at it. Then again, the "instructions" said it could take days to work while other cracks I've seen don't so that is immediately suspicious.
