    Re: Updates

COT, I'm finding out That the entire unofficial DC Group meeting list needs updated... I am wondering when was the last time Someone officially went through the entire list?

I know that it would be a pain in the ass? But it does need done....

The head of all Defcon Group coordination/direction is Blackdayz. I'll ask when the next update to active DCG is to be published, and then arrange a forum sync with that list.

        Re: Updates

I talked with Blakdayz and he says that this list is updated regularly:

        https://www.defcon.org/html/defcon-g...ups-index.html

In talking with one of the people that helps him, they have yet to resolve the handling of those DCG that are found to be "inactive"

Have you tried following this FAQ and reported any DGC that fail to respond?

        https://www.defcon.org/html/defcon-g...roups-faq.html

"Q: What do I do if the DCG POC in my area doesn't respond to my email?

A: Do to the sheer number of DCGs, it would be impossible for any DEF CON staff member to monitor the acitivity of all the groups. If you attempt to contact the POC in your area and there is no response, please email dcgroups{ax}defcon[dot]org. At that point, we will attempt to contact the POC. If the POC fails to respond, within a reasonable amount of time, the group may be considered inactive and removed from the official list. You may also decide that you'd like to start your own DCG in your area if the organizer of the first group has been inactive for an extended period of time."

        It does two things:
        1) Lets Blakdays and other know you checked, and got no response
        2) Shows them someone from that area is interested in DCG

2 is important for anyone looking to startup a DCG in their area, especially if the old one is inactive.
