Saw "Stomp" Monday night, that was fun. Percussion and on-stage comedy.
Saw Blueman tonight. "Eh." I was not as impressed.

Monday, I went to American Shooters. This year, unlike The Gun Store, American Shooters gave us the weapons, the rounds, the clip (or magazine) and let us take them to the range, load them, and fire them without a rangemaster present. At the Gun Store, 2 or 3 years ago, they sharged us about $120 each, for 4 magazines and each automatic weapon. American shooters charged us $60 for rental of automatic weapon, 50 rounds of ammo (.45) or $50 for rental of automatic weapons and 50 rounds of ammo (9mm) plus a few extra bucks for rental of goggles, ear protection, and range access.

The Gun Store let us trade weapons without extra cost. Apparently, American Shooters charges each shooter, so trading weapons doubles cost. Depending on your use, American Shooters may save you money.

We go to the Gun Store tomorrow, and may go back to American Shooters because of our experience there compared to the gun store last time.

The Atomic Testing museum was great. Lots of video footage. Want a good laugh? Get to the copies of the "Certificates of Participation" on the various classified projects. About 1/3 of them made me smile or laugh out loud. :-) (It was like $12.75 each, maybe more or less.)

They do not allow flas photography in the museum, or cell phones with cameras, and have staff in the museum. If you read everything, and watch all of the videos, and use all of the computer simulation/games you shoudl expect to spend from 2 to 4 hours here.

Spam-A-Lot is now on my list, as well as P&T and of course Defcon and the TBBQ. :-)

    Added:
Went to the 7-11 in Henderson that was re-done as a Kwik-E-Mart, but they were in the process of tearing it all down. Only thing left were a few color stripes on the gas station, some Squishie cups, donuts, 2 employees in the Kwik-E-Mart uniform, and one statue behind the counter.

The 7-11 on the strip between the Sahra and the Riv still has 6-packs of Buzz Cola, and some simpsons trading cards.

If it's too cold, just go outside for ~45 seconds. You'll be good for another few hours inside.
My suggestion would be keep a good flask handy and take a nip of it when you feel the chill.

    Re: penn & Teller Show:

Ill be going to the Mon night show, Section 2, Row B, seat 5, smack dab in the middle. As I heard it, from 8-9 P&T do a Jazz show, then 9-10 the show, then 10-10:30~11 they do a meet and greet in the hall way leading out/in to the theater. If anyone else is around for that show that night, lemme know.

Yes they do. Just remember that even if they keep it at 75 degrees, that might be 35 degrees cooler than outside. I suggest bringing one long sleeve shirt or a hat (since most heat loss happens at the top of your head).

The Flamingo, hands down. 15 acres of pools, slides, tropical plants, exotic birds, etc. It's an oasis from the concrete jungle of Las Vegas. That's one of the main reasons that my wife and I are staying there this year.

i may actually have an extra ticket for the sunday night P&T show. someone was going to come along with me but can't make it now. full disclosure: i will be also asking some of my close friends at defcon (the TOOOL people, etc) if they're interested... so any responses right now may be met with the sad news that the seat is already gone. in any case, feel free to shoot me a PM or find me at defcon to ask if it's still available if you like. these are second row, in the $100 section.

Well, that is the thing with the seating... just because you are in seat 1,2,3 doesn't mean you are in the center section (2), since each section, (1,2,3) has seats in their row that start with 1,2,3. A unique key would be a multi-partkey using Row+Seat#+Section. Using Row+Seat# would lead to collisions in the provided namespace.

I'd have to check my tickets again to know where I am sitting. I know it is near the front somewhere.

I considered the Penn and Teller show, but would only go Monday night due to Sunday nights usually being my most enjoyable night of the con.
