I don't think they need to serve booze AT the ball. There are lots of bars you can drink at, and many parties where you can get booze for free. Besides, who stays at the ball all night? I doubt it'd be a big hardship on people who want a drink to leave and come back.

By Saturday night I'm sure they've been exposed to much worse anyway. Best to mark those old enough to drink and let the young'uns join the party.
We felt pretty bad about having to go 21+ only. We had wanted to just tag the underage so our barkeeps would know not to serve them, but we were told we couldn't do that do to some Vegas law. I think they may have been lying, but it's not like we could argue.

I just don't understand how underage drinking at the BW Ball is any different than underage drinking at DefCon in general.

IF you can have personal alcohol at the Con, you should be able to have it at the ball. Fuck selling it and having the Riv profit from it.

Give out bracelets and then let people walk around w/their own alcohol...

I think they don't allow bracelets to mark underage people because they already use them on casino floor's to mark young looking people who are of legal age so they stop carding them every 5mins (I speak from experience, hate when they get on the radio and loudly announce that a bracelet has been issued)

Will under 21 have a problem again this year? Me and my g/f are picking out costumes right now (we're both 19), but I'm really gonna hate paying for a costume and not get wear it.

Sell alcohol in the hallway, not in the ball. :)

BTW...if anyone going to DefCon can't get a fake ID...I'm kinda disappoitned.
