I'm not sure that I would go for it unless you were planning on taking a bunch of exams and wanted to add up on a discount, but you would have to take a few before that $100 paid for itself.

There are so many free resources (this being one of them) that I would sooner consider some library time and a few nights with your favorite search engine a more viable alternative. This also helps in gaining a more diversified view of things.

It depends on what you plan on using it for, I suppose.

I was a paid CompTIA member for the last three years (time to renew). I thought it would help with finding a job and maybe become a valuable resource on the job . I had access to their web resources, was able to download the CompTIA logos that applied to my certifications (to be used for things like e-mail signatures), and got a nice official membership certificate to frame.

All in all, I didn't use their web resources much at all. I read through some of the Q & A's that were posted and learned a bit from what I had read. Got alot of email from them informing me about conferences, etc.

I am not sure if it helped me land the job I have, I have learned more on the job and from my peers than I did from their website. I may actually renew my membership, just for resume fader. Who knows...it may impress someone someday??

I am still new in the IT field. I have only been doing this for about two and a half years. I don't know if it was really worth the expense or not. I do like the logos for the e-mail signatures. I don't think it has added any value to my skill set. The HR Director may have been impressed (1st interview), but I think the CIO of the company (My Boss - 2nd interview) could have cared less.
