  • Not sure if this qualifies as a pre-defcon 15 thread, but here goes anyway

Ok, so I have been to Vegas for BH/DefCon quite a few times. Some of the BH training has been good, some bad, but the class I am in this year is a total *(%$*#% joke. I just want to warn anyone considering getting any info from the Security University folks, they are a bunch of hack sales types with absolutely no real knowledge. I consider myself a novice and I can see through their veil of BS. Their lab keeps crashing, targets are so easy to compromise you damn near have to stand in line and take a number just to get a packet in edgewise on them and all of their presentation material is ripped off from other people. Not to mention that the so called "senior" guy smells like he just fell out of a whiskey bottle.

Jeff/DT - Please get BH out from under CMP, they are killing it by letting idiots like this in...

Has anyone out their ever seen the stuff these people present, has it ever been good or legit?

WOW... I almost signed up for that training. Then I looked at what they were offering and the amount they wanted. Finally I just decided to buy some books, setup my lab and learn it on my own.

These companies are in it to make money. They will tell you what you want to hear as long as you pay them there bread. This is no dig on BH or DT. I think BH is just AWESOME and I have not missed the briefings in years. However, some of the so called "security pros" have no skills and should not be teaching. especially when the class is 3000+ dollars.

Well, I have lodged a formal complaint about the class with Nikita. When I went to the issues counter at registration, I was told that they had had nothing but problems with these folks and had gotten numerous complaints. Easy answer, ban them and issue refunds, keep the faith BH!
