    For what it's worth, my wife went to the DC Zoo during shmoocon 1, and loved it.

    And by "zoo", I don't mean one on Capitol Hill.

          My flight doesn't come in until 11PM on Thursday. But I've been wanting to go to the zoo and aquarium there so much that I'm going back to DC the last weekend of Feb. in case anyone is around and wants to chill

            Hey pres;

            Are you bring any copies of your BT Book with you for sale. If so save me a copy, please.

              I wish I had some; all I have is my own personal copy.

                Z^2: The zoo is cool and is right down the block from the hotel. I'd skip the aquarium though, it really is sad that it's our "National Aquarium". I've seen fish tanks with better varieties of fish, and cleaner too. It doesn't have any large aquariums, just small tanks with fish you see in local rivers and the like. Big disappointment.

                  Nope. I didn't even know who he was until I googled him.

                      How's the weather looking for people driving down to DC Thursday? From SE PA, to DC looks pretty good partly sunny and in the upper 40's. The way back Sunday however looks bad, snow and rain in the morning but all rain by the afternoon. Sounds like I will be leaving late Sunday, or maybe staying over an extra day.

                        Ai agree 100% with Grifter. If you want to see an acquarium, go to the Baltimore Acquarium it is so much better than that POS they call the National Acquarium. Larger, cleaner and more fun. The family took the oldest grandson there for his 9th Birthday this past August and everyone, including the baby had fun. Be sure and get tickets for the Dolphin show as well. I thought it was worth it.

                        If you are going to come on a weekend and not during the week, make it the first or third weekend of the month so you can add the National Cryptologic Museum to your list of places to visit. While it is open Monday - Friday from 0900 -1600, it is only open the 1st and 3rd Saturday from 1000 - 1400.

                        FWIW - I will be getting to the Hotel around 2PM on Thursday, depending on traffic.

                          It's about a 3 hour drive for me, depending on what time I get up; I could be there anywhere between 12pm and 3pm.

                              I actually kinda look like my avatar, especially when I had long hair. Just imagine me without long hair and you already know what I look like :).

                                Arrgh! Here goes my devilish count...

                                Yes,, I usually wear mine to cons. Actually, there's a 'hard core' group here tends to as far as I can tell. You, HW, Render, and Chris come to mind. It seems to be about a half-dozen to a dozen.

                                We just need more people to do it.
