this is for planning flights to work with my job...
when does defcon actually start, and end?
and for the record, how about what times each day begins and ends...

Registration will begin on Thursday August 1st sometime in the afternoon/evening. The con itself starts on Friday the 2nd and runs through Sunday the 4th around 2 or 3 pm.
Speakers will start at 10 or 11 AM on Friday. Events run well into the night (up to 2AM).

Defcon Starts Friday August 2nd at 10am and ends Sunday August 4th at 5pm. These time come from the program for DC9. So they may be off +/- an hour or so. But should remain relatively the same.

You may want to take into account that a lot people are at the Alexis Park on Thursday, it gives people a chance to meet up and get settled in before the con actually begins. Plus, for most of us, this is the only time each year where we get to see one another face to face, and even though we're a bunch of ugly bastards, we like to spend as much time as we can getting caught up with one another(read: drunk).

So you may want show up a little earlier than Friday. Hope that helps.

Dude, why would you want to be a goon?!!? They work their asses off the entire conference.... make very little money for it..... catch hell from half the attendees.... and dont go to the talks.
