hey i got a win modem but i am also got linux and stuff and i wanna get online with it but i got win modem is it possable.:confused:

in short, no.

WinModems are not "real" modems. real modems use hardware to function as where winmodems interact with windows and see emulated hardware. windows specific api's etc etc.

if anyone could give a more detailed explanation that would be good.

Some Winmodems do have a driver for linux.
Example: Lucent based winmodems.
So just give me the name and I will tell you.

Sure, there are work arounds, but in the end, you still have a crappy modem. Modems aren't all that expensive; why not just buy a decent one?
